Very rare antique English Georgian period pine fireplace mantel that was removed the Stroh mansion in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.  The mantel dates back to the late 18th Century and was installed in the Stroh house in the mid 20th Century.  This mantel has its original hand carved wood decorations that consist of a stylized floral & leaf pattern, deeply carved egg & dart trim under the shelf and an egg & leaf molding around the firebox opening.
